2016 - Heathrow Airport

A welcoming reception - A  big panel showcasing the queen. But actually her face was a mixture of thousand of small photographs. Amazing work, very impressive piece of modern art.

The Royal Family, the monarchy, when you look back in history we start to understand better where this power came from. Maybe this atmosphere of respect and tradition brought some advantage to the negotiation table, when campaigns to fortify the bounds among the Commonwealth countries occurred.

I am impressed with diversity of the population in London. And even more impressed about all the countries that had suffered influence by the English during the colonialism period. Some are obvious as Australia, New Zealand, Canadá, India, United States. But the list extends to Fiji, Cyprus, Jamaica, Kuwait, Iraq , Malaysia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and the list goes on.

2016 - British Museum

British Museum, National Galery, Tate Modern, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Design Museum, Science Museum, Docklands Museum, Imperium War Museum... London have a strong portfolio of good museums. I love visit and revisit museums and I always find something interesting and even inspiring to my repertoire. If you enjoy art and history you will be amazed.

The artwork above is made of gold and lapis lazuli. This stone is considered to be a semi-precious stone. The major source of this stone is Afghanistan.

During my tour in the Museum I was surprised by one staff of the museum offering to hold, in my bare hands, a very, very ancient coin... This demonstrations are common in the museum and it creates an opportunity to learn more about this incredible objects.

The smile expressions are funny and uncommon (from my perspective). Theses sculptures so well crafted should represent a warrior, a powerful man and those usually are represented with a serious expression, but now you can see the redemption.

2016 - British Museum

The Egypt area in the museum is just amazing you can see in the details how much they cared about the deceased person preparing it for the after world.

2016 - British Museum Store

Yes, the museum store is full of interesting things, where I found these skulls celebrating "El Día de los muertos" or "Day of the dead". This is a special day to remember the loved ones who have died and help them in the spiritual journey. So who wants to spend about 125 pounds to buy one of this skulls?
